Can I use my own Realtor?
The short answer is yes! We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during the home buying process, and if that includes using your own Realtor, then we welcome that. We have wonderful relationships with Realtors across Richmond, Williamsburg, Hampton Roads, and Raleigh and would love the opportunity to work with them to build your dream home.
What is the first step in the process?
One of the first things to consider is how much home you can afford. The Home Affordability Calculator from Realtor.com is a great tool that takes your annual income, monthly debt, and down payment into consideration. You should also find out your credit score as this will weigh heavily on what mortgage rate you will receive and could save you thousands in interest. To improve your credit score, pay off any short-term debts, such as credit card debt, and pay your bills on time.
Do I need to be pre-approved for a mortgage?
You do not need to be pre-approved for a mortgage to visit any of our new home communities. However, we recommend that you begin the process as soon as possible. It can help estimate your mortgage payment and save time down the road when you’re ready to buy. Once I select a home, do you provide assistance in selecting finishes and decorating?
