Succulents have thick, fleshy leaves that retain water in the driest climates and soil conditions. They even have health benefits! We have an easy, creative way for you to maintain your succulents with a do-it-yourself terrarium.<\/p>\n
Materials:
\n\u2022 Variety of succulents
\n\u2022 Glass container with wide opening
\n\u2022 Gravel or small rocks
\n\u2022 Cactus potting soil
\n\u2022 Sand
\n\u2022 Fertilizer
\n\u2022 Spoon
\n\u2022 Spray bottle<\/p>\n

Instructions:
\nStep One: Pick out succulents that you would like to use in your terrarium. You can find succulents in your local home improvement stores or garden centers.
\nStep Two: Select a glass container. Try to choose a container with a wide opening that isn\u2019t too deep for plant placement and prevention of moisture build up.
\nStep Three: Place a two-inch layer of gravel on the bottom of your container followed by a layer of sand. This will ensure proper drainage.
\nStep Four: Spread a half-inch layer of cactus mix soil. This is a fast-draining soil that retains little moisture. Use a spray bottle to mist the soil lightly with water.
\nStep Five: Using a spoon, dig small holes for the plants. After removing the plans from the pots, place their roots in the soil.
\nStep Six: Add another thin layer of sand followed by a thin layer of gravel. And voil\u00e0!<\/p>\n
Succulents are very low maintenance and only require two things. Place the terrarium in indirect light and mist with a spray bottle about once a week. When misting, make sure that the soil is slightly damp but not soaking.<\/p>\n
