There is no shortage of sports fans here. The PNC arena can host up to 20,000 fans of the Carolina Hurricanes professional hockey team. With six colleges and universities in the area, basketball is taken very seriously and includes massive rivalries between North Carolina State Wolfpack, Duke University Blue Devils, and University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Things get heated during March Madness!
One of the things we love the most about the region is the prevalent presence of history. The city of Apex is known for its historical charm with most buildings dating as far back as 1870. Apex is also deeply rooted in its railroad heritage that’s been documented at the North Carolina Railroad Museum & New Hope Valley Railway. You also can’t miss all the exciting exhibitions at the North Carolina Museum of History!
