Entertaining For the Holidays: HHHunt Homes Edition

family celebrating holiday dinner

We are halfway through December which means family, friends, and neighbors are gathering for holiday parties and celebrations. At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters. We understand the magic that is created when people come together and make meaningful experiences. That is why we love this time of year so much! As you plan for your next gathering, here are just some of the ways you can entertain for the holidays in an HHHunt Home. You can also check out the following videos to see what our homeowners love about entertaining in their brand-new homes! Bob and Joyce share their entertaining experience their condo at Sandler Station and Ashley from River Mill shares about hosting family for the holidays in her new single-family home.

Utilize Your Kitchen’s Island

Most of our homes come equipped with a kitchen island. This useful space can be overlooked but the kitchen island really is the perfect home accessory for entertaining. Whether you set up a make-shift bar or a buffet staging area, the kitchen island’s design is perfect for guests to treat themselves to holiday goodies. The best part is that our kitchen islands also include sinks, built-in dishwashers, and quartz or granite surfaces which make clean-up a breeze!

Warm Your Space with a Fireplace

Fireplaces are perfect for the winter months – especially around the holidays. That is why we offer fireplaces in most of our single-family and townhome floor plans. A crackling fire creates a warm and relaxing ambiance for family, friends and neighbors to gather. If you have a fireplace in your HHHunt Home, the mantle over the fireplace is the perfect spot to decorate by sharing holiday pictures or family mementos.

Store Personal Items in Your Pantry

We get it. Everyone has things lying around their home that get in the way when you are entertaining. All our home plans feature a pantry in the kitchen, making it the perfect spot to store canned or dry goods. However, pantries are also a great place to put magazines and other knickknacks that have accumulated around your family room or kitchen during the holiday season. The rule of thumb when entertaining is if it isn’t contributing to your event then put it away.

Embrace Outdoor Spaces

Many of our single-family homes and townhomes offer outdoor spaces such as covered patios, decks and more. Given that December weather in Virginia and North Carolina can be very unpredictable, why not embrace these outdoor spaces? If the weather is decent, stage some food items or seating areas outside. On colder days, these outdoor spaces can be staged with holiday decorations for your guests to admire.

Create Play Areas in Flex Spaces

Whether it be a loft on the second floor, a flex space on the first floor, or even a basement, many HHHunt Homes feature flexible spaces which are great for entertaining younger guests. Consider dressing up these spaces with holiday-themed pillows, lights, games and toys so that they can let their imaginations run wild. Here are a few ideas! Not only will kids have a great time playing in these spaces, but it will also provide parents with the opportunity to catch up with friends and family. Learn more about these areas in our flex space video!

Show Off Your Community

HHHunt Homes takes great pride in building in some of the best new home communities in Richmond, Williamsburg, Hampton Roads, and Raleigh. Show off your neighborhood by taking your guests on a quick tour. Each community comes with a unique set of amenities and features, and they will love seeing why you selected the home you did.

On behalf of everyone at HHHunt Homes, we wish you and your family a very Happy Holiday season and happy entertaining!
