Myths About Condos

There are a lot of myths out there about condo living. Homebuyers can have preconceived notions about condominiums including that you can hear your neighbors through the walls, must pay high condo association fees and more. At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters and we are busting the myths about condos so that you have the information you need during your home search.

Definition of Condominium

When we say the word “condo” or “condominium,” most people think of tall buildings spotted with balconies in an urban area. It is true that some condominium complexes are like that, but not all.

The official definition of condominium is “individual ownership of a unit in a multi-unit structure.” This means that condominiums are multiple units owned by different parties with common ownership of land. There are no other requirements!

Myth #1 About Condos: Condos Have to Share Walls

False! Just because you have multiple units with common land doesn’t mean that units share walls. For example, our Greenwich Walk at FoxCreek condominiums don’t have any shared walls. Each innovative floor plan is specially designed to fit the needs of the 55 and better lifestyle in a self-contained unit, all with first-floor owner’s suites. The only thing that is shared is a driveway.

Myth #2 About Condos: Condos Include High Association Fees

False! Condominium living is designed to provide you with peace of mind so you shouldn’t have to worry about high association fees.

Our Sandler Station community, for example, offers homeowners the low-maintenance lifestyle that they are looking for at an affordable price. Each home offers first-floor living homes with 2-car garages and spacious living areas. Minutes from Midlothian shopping and dining, VA-76 and VA-288, Sandler Station will feature community amenities including a clubhouse.

Myth #3 About Condos: Condos Are Only in Urban Areas

False! Condominium living has become more popular over the past several years which means homebuilders have developed innovative condominium plans in amazing, amenity-rich master-planned communities.

Our soon to be released Quarterpath in Williamsburg Condos will be located in the highly sought-after Quarterpath community. Quarterpath homeowners reap many benefits to living in Williamsburg. Whether it’s walking trails, popular attractions like Busch Gardens, Golden Horseshoe Golf Course, local restaurants, the Village Shops at Kingsmill, or top-notch medical and educational establishments – there is something nearby for everyone. Plus, the low-maintenance lifestyle means more time for exploring and less time on chores and yardwork!
