New Year’s Eve Celebration Ideas

It is finally time to say “Goodbye” to 2020! New Year’s Eve is nearly here, and the ongoing pandemic means that many of us will opt for more socially distant celebration options. We’ve come up with some great ways to ring in the New Year with your friends and family on Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. Here are some of our favorite ideas:

Set a Theme

New Year’s Eve celebrations have become synonymous with dressing up or costumed parties. Hold on to that tradition by setting a theme for your party. Encourage everyone to dress up and to decorate their backdrops appropriately for your theme. Given what a crazy year 2020 has been, many are opting to go the comfy route by having guests where their favorite comfortable clothes or pajamas.

Prepare the Games

You can’t have a New Year’s Eve party without games! Luckily, Parade Magazine has put together a comprehensive list of fun games and activities you and your guests can enjoy via Zoom. Why not try your hand at 2020 Bingo or Two Resolutions and a Lie? These games will create lasting memories as you count down to midnight.

Don’t Forget the Photo Props

Even though you may not be physically together with your friends this New Year’s Eve, it doesn’t mean you can’t still do a photo booth. Get your photo props ready keeping with your party’s theme. You can find some excellent kits on Etsy or other party and crafting sites.

Watch the Ball Drop Together

The nice thing about a Zoom party is that everyone gets a front row seat to the ball drop. Stream the New Year’s Eve tradition on your Zoom call by tuning in to your favorite channel. This way, you can still count down to the big moment together.

At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters and creating lasting memories with friends and family members is at the heart of what we do. On behalf of all of us, we would like to wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
