We recently sat down with Greg Garrett of Garrett Realty Partners, to discuss how he is helping clients sell their existing homes to prepare for a move to Quarterpath.  

Q&A with Greg Garrett, Garrett Realty Partners

What additional precautions are you taking to ensure the safety of your clients when placing their home on the market?

Even during the current pandemic environment, many people still need to sell their homes and move. Others are still choosing to move and not allowing the pandemic to stop them. We are taking several extra precautions when showing homes. We are doing lots of video tours beyond what we used to do in the past. We allow sellers to control whether they want the agents and potential buyers to wear masks, booties and gloves when entering their homes. We do not put clients in the cars with our agents but just meet the people at the properties. We are also not conducting traditional open houses, and we’re social distancing during showings as well as not shaking hands.

How is the current market? Why is now a great time to buy?

It is hard to believe, but the market is hot. We set a record, selling more houses in April than we sold in any months over the last 12 years. In May, we broke our all-time record over the last 33 years with more sales than any month since we have been in business. People are buying because interest rates are crazy low, and houses are continuing to go up in value. If people wait, interest rates will probably go higher, and prices will be higher. People have realized during this pandemic how important having a nice home is now that we are spending more time in our homes.
