Experience Outdoor Living This Summer!

Deck with patio furniture with white cushions, floral pillows, and glass tables.

With plenty of warm, sunny days still to come this summer, who wouldn’t want to spend more time outdoors? One of the best things about summer is getting to enjoy the outdoor living spaces of your home, including your backyard, patio, screened-in porch, and more. Outdoor living features have been increasingly more popular over the past couple years and many of our homeowners are including them when they customize their homes with us.

In fact, a 2017 study from the American Institute of Architects found that outdoor living topped the list of special-function rooms most popular with American homeowners. At HHHunt Homes, we believe it’s how you live that matters and incorporating outdoor living features in our homes helps transform ordinary spaces into places that create meaningful experiences.

As you enjoy the outdoor living spaces of your home, why not invite over friends and family for a summer gathering?

Creating mouthwatering dishes, especially ones that include fresh fruits, is a great way to make new memories, get outside, soak up the sun, and have fun. This season is full of fabulous food and we had to share one of our favorite summer desserts with you. Check out this recipe for blueberry peach cobbler from The Food Network below:

Blueberry Peach Cobbler

Total: 1 hr 10 min             Prep: 20 min       Cook: 50 min

Ingredients

1 prepared pie crust sheet
2 cups peaches, coarsely chopped
1 pint fresh blueberries
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash
Sugar cubes, crushed for dusting

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Roll pastry to fit a 2-quart oval baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine peaches and blueberries. Mix in flour, sugar, nutmeg, vanilla and butter cubes. Pour into the baking dish and cover with pastry. Using a fork, cut of excess dough and create a decorative edge by pressing tines along edge of pan and pushing down. With a knife, cut 3 slices on top of the pastry to vent. Brush on egg was and dust with sugar.

Bake until golden brown on top and edges are bubbling, about 45 to 50 minutes.
